Change your site URL
Pick your yourname.drome.site address.
Every site has a free address like https://brave-otter.drome.site. New sites get a random one. You can change the first part to something that fits your site.
Before you start#
The Site URL setting only appears once the site has an active plan or has been published. See Plans and pricing.
Change your URL#
- In the editor, open the site menu at the top left and choose Settings.
- On the General page, find Site URL.
- Enter the new name in Slug (subdomain). The line above the field shows the full address.
- Select Save.
You'll see Saved. when it's done.
Rules for the name#
- Use lowercase letters, numbers and hyphens. Capitals become lowercase, and spaces and other characters become hyphens.
- Use 3 to 50 characters.
- The name must be unique. If someone already uses it, you'll see "That slug is already taken."
- Some names are reserved for Drome. If you pick one, you'll see "That URL is reserved. Try another."
What happens to the old URL#
Your old address stops working as soon as you save. Update any links you've shared, such as on social profiles or business cards.
If you've connected a custom domain, it keeps working and follows the new address automatically.
Use your own domain instead#
To show your site on a domain you own, like www.example.com, see Connect a custom domain.
